B.o.B's latest album Ether just dropped, and first impressions are seeming positive. On the album's second track, Bobby Ray links up with the Martian himself Lil Wayne for the extraterrestrial themed cut "E.T." Over some appropriately spacey production, B.o.B and Wayne trade some dope verses. B.o.B seems rejuvenated on this one, channeling a welcome blend of pent up frustration and revived creativity.
The real highlight here, however, is a return-to-form verse from Wayne. Gone is the autotune that has permeated his recent features, and Tunechi comes through with some of the classic wordplay and flow that garnered him acclaim in the first place.
Quotable Lyrics
Oh my god, it's the Martian
Stuntin' in them Son of Mars Jordans
It must be the shoes, the stars in the sky won't start 'em
Far from the norm, bitch I'm Norman Bates awkward
But nothing's far fetched when a underdog's barkin'
But they could get checked if I don't sign my goons forge it
I don't phone home, I phone homies
