Logic's newest album "Everybody" is chalk full of social and political commentary, and "Killing Spree" drives the point home. That doesn't stop the bi-racial rapper from bringing a high-octane flow over a dope beat laced by himself, Vontae Thomas, & 6ix. With a chorus referencing some of hip-hop's favorite things, Logic's tone re-purposes them as material and shallow possession. But come on, he probably likes at least four out of five.
Still, Logic's flow is on point, and his passion for social change is evident. Nobody is spared, least of all millennials, who get roasted for prioritizing television and social media over real world problems. While the sarcastic reflection may not be for everyone, the track still goes hard, and remains a standout cut off "Everybody." I will say, however, that much like in fellow highlight "Take It Back," such a hard beat could probably have benefited from a second Logic verse.
Quotable Lyrics
Real shit goin' on in Lebanon
But I don’t give a fuck, my favorite show is coming on
Hashtag pray for this, pray for that
But you ain’t doing shit, get away from that
Blame it on black, blame it on a white
Blame it on a gun, blame it on a Muslim
Everybody wanna blame him, blame her
Just blame it on a mothafucka killing everyone!
