Oh damn, now we're talking. Denzel Curry and Twelve'len connect on the smooth new track "Human Gods, and Denzel continues to prove his versatility over an array of different production styles. The latest from the duo finds them going in over a classy beat, with dynamic drum switch-ups and an atmospheric backdrop. Twelve'len's vocals are a great counterpart to Denzel's dominant presence, and when Curry jumps in, he comes through with references to science-fiction, existentialism, and astrology.
Admittedly, I'm a bit of a Denzel stan, so I'm excited to see him dropping some new music. In keeping with the mythological theme, Twelve'len explained to Pigeons and Planes that the cover art is influenced by African deities and lore: “The cloth I wear represents OSHUN, the goddess of love who appears in tales as a woman, mermaid or sunflower...The red cloth Denzel wears in the painting represents Shango, the god of storm and drums.”
Quotable Lyrics
Would I believe in something that I'd never see?
Astronomy, in my economy mythology
Rule my people with astrology
Asking your girl bout that zodiac,
Some people see faith in cognac
Some people see God in Cadillacs,
Even though God is a money stack
