Stevie Stone is a member of the Strange Music camp, for those unfamiliar. Following 2015's Malta Bend album, the gritty rapper is returning in June to release a new record, Level Up. It appears to be a requirement of Strange Music camp that you work hard and consistently release music. Strange Music is nothing if not fan-pleasers.
Leading the way for the June 2nd release of Level Up, Stevie Stone hit the studio with none other than producer OG Scott Storch, for the piano-infused "Whippin' Up." Stevie gets some assistance on the hook from DB Bantino on the record, while delivering his own melodic verses over a tremendous string arrangement. Stevie shared a few words with us about the collaboration and getting to work with a legendary producer on it: "Working with Scott was a very dope experience. Being able to vibe with a legend that has made countless smashes for all the greats and me being able to get in there with him, I’m very honored and humbled to of had that opportunity." Storch echoed Stevie's sentiments, telling us, "Stevie Stone has a very unique voice and the track I produced for him goes well with that! I gave him a fresh, new sound that's right now! We added DB Bantino on the hook and it's a smash!!!"
