Styles P and Talib Kweli, two veteran emcees with respect on their names, just released collaborative EP The Seven. While the eyes of the hip-hop community were largely centered on Kendrick Lamar's DAMN, The Seven dropped quietly, much to the excitement of Ghost & Kweli loyalists everywhere. Still, this project does not deserve to be slept on, and both rappers prove well suited to the wisdom of experience. The appropriately titled "Poets & Gangstas," embodying the respective archetypes of Talib And Styles, features both rappers trading off verses over a smooth-ass bassline. The track serves as an introduction to The Seven, and fans of old school lyrical hip-hop should most definitely check this one out.

Lyrical warfare dies if you send 'em here
