Smokepurrp is the latest South Floridian teenager to become a SoundCloud sensation. He sounds like he's on the cutting-edge of the eclectic cyber-trap wave that's all the rage among today's young tastemakers. He's got something, that's for sure, as industry titan Todd Moscowitz recently made Smokepurpp the first signee of Alamo Records, his latest venture. The 19-year-old rapper has also proven himself worthy of working with some of the game's top producers, like TM88, who produced Smokepurpp's new track "Glock Inside My Benz."
The song is a showcase of Smokepurpp's melodic abilities, as he uses auto-tune to explore his vocal range and add more emotion to his usual snappy delivery. Listeners have noticed a similarity -- especially with the drums -- between "Glock Inside My Benz" and Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3," also produced by TM88.
Both TM88 and Southside produced Smokepurpp's "Woah," released last month. Both "Woah" and "Glock Inside My Benz" are thought to be slated for Smokepurpp's upcoming tape, DEADSTAR.
