"20 Karat Jesus" opens You Only Live 2wice, Freddie Gibbs' first project since 2015's Shadow Of A Doubt, but more notably, his first release after being acquitted of sexual abuse charges leveled against him in Austria last year. Gibbs, who maintained his innocence throughout the process, has returned grateful to be reunited with his family and his career in music. On "20 Karat," he demonstrates all of his strengths as a writer and vocalist in the span of 5 minutes. Just as it seems he's exhausted every flow in his repertoire halfway through, the dark, paranoid beat morphs into a lush, soul-sampling instrumental that sounds like a second chance feels.

Quotable Lyrics:
Got symptoms of withdrawal
From the fall when I used to ball
I show you how in one summer
One n---a could lose it all
Like why we gotta feel this pain
In our friends and family though
My cellie like to walk around in his sleep
I rather stay woke
I must evoke
These are the results of the realest shit that I wrote
