Rap Monster (or RM), leader of South Korean group BTS, has teamed with Wale on new single "Change." As Billboard points out, the collaboration began with a tweet Wale sent out after learning that RM had rapped over his "Illest Bitch" instrumental. "Collab??" he asked. 3 months later, we receive both a new song and video, as both rappers call for change in the world at large. Wale criticizes the alt-right and "racist police" in his politically-charged verse.
The release precedes the North American leg of BTS' tour which kicks off in Newark, New Jersey this Thursday. Does "Change" have the potential to be a crossover for both artists?
Quotable Lyrics:
Got no faith in the government
That's why we need each other, hey
Laughin' to keep from cryin'
Folarin's a rap monster
BTS is the ARMY
Now it's on me
I'ma keep the piece
Until I see some more peace
Change
