"I love to be a lit," Nesta sings on his new release "I'm Not Cool." His voice has the spirit of carbonated bubbles rushing to the surface, and his bright production sizzles like a steak on a backyard grill. It's the perfect song to take you into the weekend.
Nesta was raised in Florida and moved to New York in early 2013 to take care of terminally ill father, who was once the lead singer of the reggae band The Visionaries. "I'm Not Cool" contains a healthy dose of Florida's famous sunshine.
"This track is inspired by my life on the daily and how I'm learning to see the positive side of the bad things that may happen along the way," Nesta told HNHH by email. "That's what I think being lit really is, it's knowing who you are, knowing where you're going, trying to stay positive, and sharing the light by making people happy. When I was working on the beat, I wanted to make something people would dance to and I thought of Florida, cause that's where I fell in love with trap music."
Nesta is set to release his debut project later this year.
Quotable Lyrics
You're cold as ice
Mike said think twice
As time floats by
You'll see why...
