Flip Major is back with us for another premiere, this time he nabs Migos' feature king, Quavo, for the single "Take A Look," following up the Zoey Dollaz collaboration "Chick That Smokes." This record is slated to appear on Flip's currently untitled project, due out in the Spring.
"Take A Look" is the perfect intersection of LA and ATL, with producer Steelz cooking up a beat that melds metallic hyphy sounds with trap. ATL definitely had an influence on the record too, because Flip actually flew out to the city to record this collaboration with Quavo,as he tells us via e-mail.
"I wanted to catch a different vibe for this album, so I flew to Atlanta to record at Drama's spot Mean Streets studios. We were down there for like a week working with everyone, including Quavo. I already had the hook and my verse and when he heard it he went straight into the booth and murdered it. When we heard the finished product we knew we had something special."
Take a listen.
Quotable Lyrics
The plug for 20, bricks in speakerbox
I got the blueprint I'ma connect the dots
Busy schedule on the fly
Cook it up and let it dry
Number one selling pies
