Montreal hip-hop band Clay and Friends make their HNHH debut tonight with "FiGurES," their tasty cover of Jesse Reyez's heartfelt track. With their debut album dropping via Ste-4 Records on March 4th, the Canadian jam band is looking to make their talent abundantly clear to the folks of cyber space. Here's what Clay wrote about the track on his SoundCloud page:
"When I heard this Jessie Reyez tune I started crying - Straight up - Probably because it was 4 a.m, or because I hadn’t left the studio in so long it didn’t know my left from my right anymore ... Del passed-out on the studio-carpet , I laid down the guitar and vocals. Some Second – hand smoke put me right to sleep. When I woke up, I saw Del with headphones on doing that Maghreb producer head-nod thing, I knew he flipped it."
