New York producer Scram Jones has brought rappers from his city together for a gritty crew track called "NYC Driveby." Uncle Murda handles the hook, a staccato rhythm that sets the tone for the record. From there, a haunting vocal sample underlies storytelling from Harlem's Dave East, and LOX OG Styles P rounds things off with the closing 16.
No word on whether this will appear on an upcoming project from Scram.
Watch Dave East's recent music video for "It Was Written," another New York story in which he details his come-up and pays tribute to Nas.
Quotable Lyrics:
Fresh out the precinct, mama said she praying for me
Talking to the deacon, I was rarely eating
Trips to Baltimore, bussing checks every weekend
Henny drinkers, fuck that wine, ain't sipping Riesling
NYC Driveby
