Daye Jack worked his young butt off in 2016. The Nigerian-born and Atlanta-bred rapper released his album Surf The Web and has since been grinding to promote the project. Today we receive brand new rendition of one of the album cuts by way of the DP and Denzel Curry assisted "Raw (Remix)."
While the production and Daye Jack's verse for the track don't change, DP and Denzel Curry rearrange the landscape of the track with their crazy verses. On the flip side, though, the track keeps its militant and conscious voice throughout and builds on itself with the added help from DP and Curry. Daye Jack added the following words about the track:
"Raw' is about being yourself to the fullest. It's an ode to the kid who's picked on for not fitting into societies boxes. It's liberating to look in the mirror, accept your flaws and say 'I'm fucking awesome."
Check out the remix and go stream Surf The Web here. Additionally, stay tuned for details on the rapper's forthcoming album No Data.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm the nigga came up cold
All the shit they must atone
Let my enemies yell at me, hobby for the young bro
It's a tragedy when someone black as me get gold
Time to slaughter, street fighter fist, that's Nintendo
Told my alma mater gotta send me money, Venmo
Put us on map, don't sleep, siesta, man blow
Jack won't been no nigga serenading with a banjo
