Earlier this year, TDE's co-president Punch announced plans to finally release a full-length project. We haven't heard any updates since then, but today, the underrated rapper shares another new track called "Gold." Tagging the song as "meditation" on SoundCloud, Punch's latest record finds him focused and reflective, thinking back to past advice, and asking himself the hard questions.
"All my life I've been told / everything that glitters ain't gold / now that I've arrived to see these truths unfold / before my eyes in a world so cold," he repeats like a mantra.
"Just a few thoughts over instrumentation by Roddie Simmons & Brent .never ever second guess your instincts," he writes of the track.
Listen to Punch's previous release "40yrs."
Quotable Lyrics:
But the homie got killed, what's the relevance?
They gave my uncle twenty-seven years with no evidence
It's really real out here, niggas are getting killed out here
Where's your content?
How do you sleep, where's your conscience?
How could you ever forget the projects?
