Wiz Khalifa's new track, "Washingtons By Your Side," will be included on The Hamilton Mixtape, which finds some of the biggest artists in hip-hop and R&B reinterpreting songs from the record-setting Lin-Manuel Miranda Broadway show. "Washingtons By Your Side," Wiz' rendition of the "Hamilton" song "Washington on Your Side," is one of the first solo tracks that has been released from the forthcoming compilation project, following Usher's "Wait for It." Other songs that have seen an early release include "Wrote My Way Out," a collaboration from Nas, Dave East, Aloe Blacc, as well as Miranda, and "Helpless," a duet between the long-separated pairing of Ja Rule and Ashanti.
Wiz both raps and sings on "Washingtons By Your Side." He has a voice that would do well in the theatre.
The Hamilton Mixtape is set for release on Dec. 2 via Atlantic Records.
Quotable Lyrics
Don't matter what most people say
'Cause all of 'em get in the way
I'm working with more than I play
Which mean I'm gon' be here to stay
I roll me one up and I blaze
