Promnite's new single "Gunsmoke" draws on the talents of South Floridians Denzel Curry, Nell, and Twelve'len, North Carolinian J.K. the Reaper, and Honolulu producer Mr. Carmack to shed light on what it means to live in America in 2016.
"We live in precarious times right now and less is certain now than ever before," said Promnite in a press release. "A lot of people listen to a trap song or some hood shit and are really into the energy of it because it seems cool, but have no clue about the racial climate that people of color have to deal with growing up in those areas. It really is kill or be killed by either some random person that feels you looked at them the wrong way, or the cops themselves."

Quotable Lyrics
And they know just what we do, still tryna end true real nigga
Try and cop a feel and send em to the cotton field
Everything light bright in my eyesight
There goes the neighborhood is just a way to say white flight
