The fertile soil of Chicago's hip hop scene continues to produce greatness. The young rapper/producer Saba co-produced half of Noname's sublime Telefone, which came out this summer. Now it's his turn. This morning, he announced that he will release Bucket List on October 27th and dropped the project's new single, "Church / Liquor Store" feat. Noname.
Produced by Cam O'bi, "Church / Liquor Store" takes the listener on a drive down a West Side Chicago arterial, where places of worship stand adjacent to vendors of spirits. The song is about how crime-riddle neighborhoods are also homes to humble, hard-working people. As on his acclaimed 2014 tape ComfortZone, Saba manages to be both a dreamer and a technician.

Quotable Lyrics
Funny, kids that I hoop with all in county
County, black bodies hun 'em down look like bounties
Bound to, be on the block a little while longer
They your homies, this for homie
What don't kill ya make you stronger
