Jay Electronica sighting! The pot-stirring veteran rapper has actually been relatively prolific -- compared to the past few years -- in 2016, starring in a Toyota commercial, releasing an incendiary record addressed at the whole rap game, and guesting on Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book track "How Great." He's now shown up on the new single from Scottish soul singer Emeli Sandé, entitled "Garden," which was premiered today by BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. Jay presumably connected with Sandé during his lengthy stint living in London. The song is equal parts spooky and sexy with a sparse, atmospheric backdrop.
"It is an expression of freedom and passion, two important parts of life, which I hadn’t really explored until a few years ago,” Sandé told Annie Mac of "Garden." The song closes with a spoken word passage from a new artist named Áine Zion. "Garden" will appear on Sandé's forthcoming album, Long Live the Angels, which is set for release on November 11.
