About a month after making some heavy noise with their new album, ETERNAL GREY, featuring the likes of Denzel Curry, Pouya, and Yung Simmie, the $UICIDEBOY$ are back with part IV of their fan-favorite "KILL YOURSELF" series. For those unacquainted with the New Orleans duo, this happens to be a good starting point, as the track is especially delicate and less assaulting than some of the $UICIDEBOY$' rap-metal anthems.
"KILL YOURSELF (PART IV)" begins with a ambient loop of strings and static, and the drums and rapping come in at once. The impressively rhythmic raps of Ruby da Cherry are occasionally echoed with background wailing. There's an emptiness to the song, especially with the suicidal lyrics, but that's counteracted by the beautiful precision of the entire arrangement. Sedated and melodic raps precede sharp, maniacal ones on the second verse, delivered by Slick Sloth.
