His latest, "Overdue," is already percolating on the platform, with about 70k streams in 11 hours. He's been averaging a couple of songs per month, if not more, over the last year or so, and his recent efforts, including "Gone," "We Haven't Met Just Yet," seem to be among his best work. Like "Overdue," they're all self-produced.
The song begins with Russ coolly singing over a charming late-night beat, and the title initially refers to an imminent seductive encounter with a female acquaintance, one that's long "overdue." But when he starts rapping, Russ confidently conveys that, given his skills, the come-up he's currently experiencing was bound to happen by now.
