OG

It a pretty big statement to call yourself an OG on your debut single, and Aaron Knight has done just that with his new record. The thing is, he's been doing this music thing for some time, it's just happening to come together now. Either way, "OG" sounds like a very confident first move, proving the rapper has his sound together out the gate.

The record has subtle R&B influences, sounding akin to the dark, melodic sounds coming out of Toronto at the moment. Knight hails from Sunnyside, Queens, NYC, making him somewhat of an outlier in his region, but perhaps suggests a new direction for the city. His debut EP is due out later this fall.
