Freebandz' East Cleveland representative Doe Boy is back with a new single, "Band Man," which follows a series of buzzing tracks he's been a part of this summer, including "Mama Neva Understand" and "Chicken Chicken," a collab with Rocaine of Glo Gang. "Band Man" is produced by K.E. On The Track, who's behind Scotty ATL's quickly ascending new track "So High."
The track starts with a shout-out to Gucci Mane, who got out of prison around the same time as Doe Boy did, each man serving about three years. They've both returned to the streets with similar hunger. On the club-crushing new track, Doe interpolates the hook and certain lyrics from the Guwop classic "Rain Man," off his very first mixtape, 2006's Chicken Talk. Elsewhere, Doe raps with the tempo of an ATL trapper but with a cold-hearted Midwestern snarl about his flows.
Doe Boy was sent away when he was just 18. Now on the outs with a renewed focus, tracks like "Band Man" prove he's gonna be a crucial member of Future's team.
