Mayzin is a rapper and a singer out of Oakland, California. His main collaborator is an Irish producer named DANYAL, who provides the production across his Something I Wanted mixtape, on which "Here, Catch" appears.

Mayzin provided some insight into the concept of the record. "The song is about girls who have everything they need in a man yet, they still go behind your back and look to have fun and it backfires by catching feelings, then realizing that they are just getting played by other guys. When they wanna run back to you its to late."
