The UK-bred duo AlunaGeorge, consisting of vocalist Aluna Francis and producer George Reid, are back today with the latest leak off their forthcoming album I Remember. Thus far they've carved out a lane for themselves with their unique blend of electronic and r'n'b, but the electronic style is really what's defined them. This latest record is a change in pace, then, from their past releases, even including album singles like the fast-paced "I Mean What I Mean" and the lightly chopped title track with Flume (who happens to be the subject of today's Behind the Beat).
"Mediator" has much more classic and timeless feel to it, with slow-moving production that consists of jazzy guitar plucking and lush string arrangements. Aluna's squeaky vocals ensure to give it a modern edge, though. Take a listen, and pre-order their album on iTunes below. It drops on September 16.
Quotable Lyrics
There are times you're convincible
You look at me all quizacle
And you know that I'll stick up for you
But taking signs is a foolish game
Cause in the end it won't remove the pain
And I'm tryna to give you the truth
