Post Malone's August 26th mixtape was a versatile effort, flying through a range of influences in between rap and rock, but "40 Funk" was a decidedly R&B-indebted endeavor, which makes it perfect territory for Khalil. The Sacramento-hailing singer leaves much of the original record intact, while adding his own verse, which is actually a little mroe agressive and rap-influenced than Post's but fits the feel of the FKI and Makonnen-produced record perfectly, complimented by some interesting digital manipulation.
Khalil's "Misunderstood" project is coming soon. Make sure to check out his recent single, "Quality," if you're looking for more from him. Do Khalil and Post Malone need to get in the studio together?
