The heat keeps coming this morning. Next up is a new release from Earl Sweatshirt with Knxwledge on production, courtesy of Cartoon Network’s Adult Simple Singles Program. “Balance” is a slower, piano-driven track that has Sweatshirt trading in his usual abstractly connected rhymes for a more straightforward storytelling format. It works well, showing Sweatshirt’s strong songwriting skills even more prominently when he ins’t packing each breath with intricate rhyme schemes.
Earl Sweatshirt released his last album I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside in 2015. He’s set to appear on Danny Brown’s upcoming album Atrocity Exhibition on a song that also features Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar.
Quotable Lyrics
I had to ask moms what I owed to this shit
she said nothing,
she asked me bout the old times both of us missed
I said nothing
She asked if I'm smoking again, I told her I prolly gotta go in a bit
