Birdman and his ward Jacquees put out a joint mixtape this spring called Lost at Sea. While it failed to make waves as the Cash Money tyrant had perhaps hoped, Jacquees remains one of the most promising young talents in R&B. Today, Birdman and Jacquees connect with their Cash Money brethren Caskey on a new track called "Money Up."
On "Money Up," the pursuit of wealth comes at a price. The trio raps/sings over weepy cinematic strings, thus giving the song a timeless, almost hollow feeling. One can imagine Birdman bumping this track while smoking a Cuban cigar on a the patio of his mansion and looking out over his moat.
Quotable Lyrics
Damn, girl, is you widdit
The money coming fresh printed
The Harley bike's not rented
Windows on the whip tinted
In the kitchen, wrist spinning
