Verse Simmonds links with elite dancehall producer Supa Dups for his new summer single: "In My Feelings."

Above all, the dancehall-inspired R&B anthem has been the defining sound of Summer '16. This isn't a new sound to ATL-based singer Verse Simmonds, who was raised in the Virgin Islands. For his new single, "In My Feelings," Simmonds has teamed up with the Miami-based Jamaican producer/DJ Supa Dups, the founder of the legendary Black Chiney sound system. The result is one of the most seamless island fusion experiments that you're likely to hear on the airwaves this summer.

Over the past few months, Simmonds has shown off his ability to dabble in all kinds of sounds, such as illicit, club-focused R&B as well as the more traditional, soulful side of the genre. Whether it be lust or romance, the expression of his feelings always feels authentic, and that stays true with his new foray into the island sound. His vocals flow smoothly across Supa Dup's uptempo but decidedly pensive riddim, resulting in an easy-riding party track that's also packed with readily relatable emotion. "In My Feelings" is the latest track off Simmonds' upcoming album, To All the Girls, which is set to arrive on August 15.

Quotable Lyrics

I've gotten too used to doing things my own way
Oh you're not mine, why we fightin' this time
Maybe I'm lyin', and I care more than I tried
You got me in my feelings, yeah
