DJ Drama brings together a few hardened rappers from across the country for his threatening collaboration "Body For My Zipcode"-- each rapper repping a different zip code, ostensibly. Young Life is perhaps the least familiar name of the bunch, as a Compton up and comer, although he makes up the majority of the song. Meanwhile Gangsta Gibbs holds it down for Indiana, and Dave East is Harlem's own.
The record is built upon a simple piano melody that remains consistent through out, in between moments of hard-hitting bass and 808s. Who wins best verse here? Point to Gibbs? Let us know what you think.
This song will live on Drama's Quality Street Music 2, which drops on July 22nd.
Quotable Lyrics
Was wrapping packages before I had a rap dream
Was wrapping packages before I had a rap dream
Was doing robbery before I hit a rap show
The type of n*gga throw a 40(?) in the pot
Copped a foreign off the lot
Copped the motor in the back, hoe
Cause every day a n*gga flexing, finnessing, full clip in my weapon
I blow like Bob Marley, no worries, no stressin,
Head honcho, the boss boy I play my position
I feel like Nino before he was snitchin'
Gah damn
