Curren$y weighs in on police brutality with "Good Cop, Bad Cop"

Currensy has been on an unstoppable streak throughout 2016, and today he's shared another new record, but this one feels especially important. Following the killing of Alton Sterling, Spitta shared an experience he had in Baton Rouge on Instagram, as he described being pulled over and threatened by police all over the smell of weed in his car. On his new track, "Good Cop, Bad Cop," he expands on that story, reflecting on "being lucky that night, but who's to say," as he criticizes cops for "pulling out guns for the traffic stop". Protesters have been doing their best to voice their issues with the police department in the city, but even so, have faced their own issues with riot cops overstepping their boundaries. The country has a long way to go, but speaking out is the first step.

Quotable Lyrics:
See this one time
I was sliding through Baton Rouge
Cops pulled us over
They wasn't loving my weed fumes
Put us in the grass, handcuffs, two by two
And then they offered bullet holes to me and my crew
Towed the truck away, we walked to the stage
We had a good time anyway, and got paid
We was lucky that night, but who's to say
