Although we thought everything was good between Lupe Fiasco & Pete Rock, it seems that is not the case.
Lupe Fiasco called into Sway Calloway's morning show and expressed his anger towards Pete Rock for originally bashing Lupe for sampling "T.R.O.Y." on his new single "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)."
Lupe really goes off in his rant, saying that he reached out to Pete in November about the song, and that Pete didn't even own the song so they had to go through Warner Chapel. Thus they had reached out to Pete Rock out of respect, and he had (supposedly) given Lupe's team his blessing.
Lupe also says that Pete wasn't supposed to reveal that they had something in the works in his apologetic tweet, "I just got off da phone lupe, we worked out our differences and we bout to get it in..." -- he was just supposed to apologize.
