After writing for some of the game's best talents, the Atlantic Records signee known as PJ has been devoted to her career as a solo artist, and the results over the past year or so have been brilliant. She's got a knack for feel-good R&B songs brimming with raw emotion. After sharing "Cold" last month, PJ is back today with her latest single, "Come Down," and it features another tried-and-true R&B maestro in Ty Dolla $ign.
Over a funky, guitar-driven production, PJ sings clichés that, through her voice, sound not tired but beautifully uplifting. The most powerful part of the song is when a full band enters the mix and PJ wails and harmonizes about how she refuses to "Come Down." The track is the latest off PJ's upcoming debut album, RARE, which will also feature G-Eazy. Pre-order RARE here before it arrives on July 15.
Quotable Lyrics
We keep rising, and rising up like the curtain
Young nigga, know your worth, know your purpose
You ain't gotta play, you worthless
Yeah, that right there I know for certain
