Big K.R.I.T. made our morning with the announcement of a #12FOR12 freestyle series, which, by Midnight, will basically result in a mixtape's worth of new material from K.R.I.T. over other rapper's beats. Shortly after announcing the series on social media, Krizzle kicked it off with the first of twelve freestyles, a take on ScHoolboy Q's "THat Part" beat. Next up for K.R.I.T.'s onslaught is Pusha T and Jay Z's "Drug Dealers Anonymous," now in reference to his country roots.
This sleek and modern production isn't exactly the Southern-bred sounds that K.R.I.T. typically uses, but he kills it, even taking some inspiration from Hov on his flow. Stay tuned for another freestyle in another hour. What beat are you hoping the Cinematic rapper hops on?
Update: we've started compiling each freestyle into a mixtape, head here to keep tabs on each release.
Quotable Lyrics
Life's a gamble, this a slot machine, I'ma pull it
I got steak, I got shrimp, I got lobster
What you cookin?
Three minutes, they got 45 left, who you bookin?
Yeah that one song killed, then it died, I was lookin'
Catalogue been amazing(??), whole lot of rookies
Stripe badges, girl scout n*ggas, a whole lot of cookies
Ain't no need to write a verse, a whole lot of hookin'
Rap game was a parent, it's a whole lot of whoopins
