Seattle has historically harbored a strong underground hip hop scene but hasn't exported many big name artists other than Sir Mix-A-Lot, Digable Planets, and Macklemore. Currently the city's most promising young prospect is likely Dave B, who is wisely aligned himself with Soulection star producer Sango, who is also from Seattle. They have a collaboration album Tomorrow coming out soon, and today they released the third song from the project, "Help Me Find A Way." Sango builds the beat around a floral sample and Dave employs his effortless flow to interpolate A Tribe Called Quest's "Find My Way."
Tomorrow drops July 22. Buckle up!
Quotable Lyrics
Got flavor, that won't get you paid though
And self-conscious won't buy me a halo
Nah I wouldn't say I'm safe, saving my best shit
I cuff beats and feelings got arrested
