20 Ways

Tremaine Morgan describes himself as someone who wants to redefine the sound of R&B. His new record, "20 Ways," isn't entirely out of step with what's going on within the genre right now, but it does feel fresh in certain ways, merging traditions with newer aesthetics and coming out with a good balance of sounds. His vocal delivery is definitely rap influenced, particularly on the verses, but his influences are more Trey Songz than Ty Dolla $ign or PartyNextDoor, and the runs he pulls out in the final chorus show he's got the chops to back up his songwriting.
