R'n'b duo THEY. broke on to the scene in October of last year, seemingly out of nowhere, with an EP titled Nu Religion, consisting of three records, each extremely dope. The duo, which consists of singer Drew Love and producer Dante, had a co-sign from Timbaland although it would be unfair to say that's what helped them gain traction-- it seems like it would have happened with or without the label, the co-sign.
Following the release of their debut Nu Religion EP, they teamed up with two EDM powerhouses, ZHU and Skrillex, for "Working For It," (also in October) and that was the last we've heard from them. Finally, today the duo are back with another crazy record, "Say When." If you were fucking with Nu Religion, you will fuck with this heavy. It's got a similar rock-r'n'b aesthetic with a spiraling guitar strings that became grander and louder as the record goes on-- and then the drums come in and the song hits even harder.
Take a listen. If you need some more info on these two, read our interview with them here.
Quotable Lyrics
These politic n*ggas some scam artists
Call it the land of the free but that shit ain't for me
We'll go out like some damn martyrs
Watch how they shove all that money way deep in my pockets
And tell me stop it
Do what you do yeah that's cool
But for me being neutral was never an option
