Around two weeks ago, Ace Hood gave us the premiere of "4th Quarter," one of the lead records off his upcoming Starvation 5 mixtape. He sounded as hungry as ever on it, but slows things down for this "Father's Day" anthem.
We know Ace can do the hyped up bangers, but we don't hear him as often over softer, more melancholic production. We can thank Scott Styles for this piano-laden beat, while Ace shows off his softer side as well. He reflects on his own parenting skills, as well as the things connected to him that may distract him from his children-- his baby mama, his rap career etc. "It's Father's Day and I'm feeling like I hate myself," he raps on the record. Yeesh. He's also released a music video for the song that you can catch below.
Take a listen to the open letter-type of record and let us know what you think. Starvation 5 is on the way.
Quotable Lyrics
She gon pat me on the back like it's all right my dear
Still wishin every day I had my grandma here
But hey that's the way life is though
We all living just to die, the way the script goes
No answer, screaming fuck cancer
