Kanye West recently extended the shelf-life of February's The Life of Pablo by making one more amendment -- perhaps the last -- to the album. He added the new song "Saint Pablo," which had leaked at the end of March, to the bottom of the tracklist. It provided a fitting conclusion to the album, as the song is dedicated to the heir of Pablo's throne, Saint West. "Saint Pablo" finds Ye responding to recent controversies and providing a chillingly inspirational portrait of the man who he wants his son to see him as. Just a few days after making it onto TLOP, "Saint Pablo" has been remixed by two young Toronto producers, WondaGurl and Daxz.
WondaGurl, now 19, landed a beat on Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail when she was 16, and she's since produced for Drake, Young Thug, and Travis Scott. She also worked with Kanye on the production of Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money." As for Daxz, he was behind the beat of last year's biggest diss song. The two make a fine pairing, as they give an added electronic pulse to Kanye's original without taking away from the honesty of his lyrics. They clear the backdrop when Sampha come in, adding just a few experimental touches to give his vocals a stirring energy.
Kanye has been remixed into oblivion this year. This one's different...
Quotable Lyrics
I'm not out of control, I'm not just in they control
I know I'm the most influential
That TIME cover was just confirmation
This generation's closest thing to Einstein
So don't worry about me, I'm fine
