Detroit rapper Willy J Peso hasn't dropped any new music since December's Sativa EP, which was filled with turn-up tracks fueled by the particularly energizing type of cannabis. He's now ready for another EP, and he has just announced that the title of this one will be Indica. Same substance, new vibes. The first Indica single Willy has decided to drop is named after one of the greatest to ever to fuse herbs and music: "Bob Marley."
The song starts out with a slow, summery melody that one might associate with Marley, but a huge wave of energy comes in as the beat and the hook drop at the same time. Backed by forceful 808s, Willy's hook is almost too simple -- letting the effects cloud the brain like that first rip -- but on his quick, sharp verses, he offers plenty of witty rhymes that'll dazzle one's sonic senses, especially if some indica is involved. "Bob Marley" is produced by Philup Banks.
Willy J Peso's Indica drops on July 15. In the meantime, revisit Sativa here.
Quotable Lyrics
On my off night, I'm in Off White
Bring the champagne, that what the hoe like
I want some good dank, and a vape pen
I wanna big fur, like a caveman
