Listen to Julian Stephen's "Plantations".

Queens-hailing artist Julian Stephen's new record, "Plantations," toes the line between rap and R&B, as Stephen adopts an auto-tune drenched wail on the hook, complimenting his vocals with some delicate backing vocals. The track tackles the familiar topic of the daily grind, but also how the motivation to work puts stress on a relationship. The instrumental comes courtesy of Mari, who supplies a pummelling bassline, but also some subtle snaps and intoxicating synths that maintain the R&B mood. Stephen's Outsider EP is due out soon, and this one should appear on it. Let us know what you think of Julian so far in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:
Rumor is you're taken now
Like boy bands we're breaking up
And like the weed, I'm breaking down
Girl, don't you know, this how the game go
You think I'm playing this time, oh no, no
