Minneapolis native Shawn Harris has a habit of releasing songs in twos. Last month he released "22 Questions" and "Rich Before Rap" at the same damn time. Late Tuesday night he dropped off two more songs: "612" and a Prince tribute entitled "Uptown."
Produced by Harris and Seventh Soldano, "Uptown" is an ode to Harris' swanky and sexed out lifestyle. Somehow the song takes on a melancholy temperament. For Harris, moving uptown is evidently a profound act that has not taken for granted.
Harris drops music on the regular but hasn't released a project since last May's Troubled Soul: Blame the City mixtape. He promises Lafré is "out soon."
Quotable Lyrics
I grew up a screw up, but thank God I blew up
Your bitch, she just flew up, that boy, he the one
Now pop me that Xannies, she took of them panties
I told that girl put that shit right on my tongue
