The Avalanches' 2000 album Since I Left You is widely considered one of the best albums of the new millenium. Last night they shared their first music in over a decade: a song called "Frankie Sinatra" from their upcoming album Wildflower.
"Frankie Sinatra" features Danny Brown and MF Doom rapping over a kind of tuba-driven vaudeville/calypso two-step. It's pretty bizarre, in a refreshing way.
Wildflower is due out July 8. In addition to Brown and Doom, it'll feature Father John Misty, Toro Y Moi, Camp Lo, Biz Markie, and others. You can pre-order it on iTunes.
Quotable Lyrics
Off this rocker, he's off his rocker
Please Mr. Officer I only had some vodka
Little marijuana just a few Vicodin
Only reefer surfin' out here where I'm driving
