Chri$ Born is a 20-year-old artist from Detroit, Michigan. He's known t self-produce, and his latest record, which features a futuristic, bass-driven groove, is no exception. Chris greets the ambient synths, distorted snares, and wobbling sub-bass with a variety of flows, sometimes slipping into the popular "ay"-punctuating flow, sometimes stoically delivering long strings of breathless rhymes. He's someone who sounds like he's developed a rap style and production style simultaneously, carving out a very specific lane for himself in the process. He certainly doesn't sound much like his peers in Detroit, but he's not without contemporaries, fitting into a larger post-regional scene of industrial-leaning rapper-producers.
