Atlanta singer Verse Simmonds has returned this year with a few different tracks that showcase his far-reaching range when it comes to R&B. As he's about ready to share his new project, To All the Girls, Simmonds has come through with a heartfelt new track entitled "Best for You."
His last couple of tracks, the Prince-dedicated "Never Get Enough" and The Monarch-produced "Let Me Know," have found him inspired by the sounds of trap and deep house, respectively. Content-wise, both have found him consumed by late-night lust. "Best for You" leans more toward R&B in the traditional sense, and the song finds Simmonds lamenting on what could've been a life-changing relationship, thus exposing his own vulnerabilities as he goes. Though it's one of his more romantic songs, he also uses "Best for You" to show off his quick rhyming skills. Indeed, he begins the song by singing, "This might be one of my illest rhymes ever," and he really sinks his teeth into an impassioned flow during his final verse.
The song samples the famed '90s all-girl trio SWV and is produced by R&B mainstay Bridgetown. Stay on the lookout for To All the Girls.
