Remember Amerie? Responsible for classics like "1 Thing." Well, the R&B singer has returned from a lengthy hiatus, and she's taken a page from Desiigner's book and added an extra "i" to her name. She appeared on The Breakfast Club yesterday, and today, Ameriie has come out with a brand new EP, Drive, released through her independent label Feeniix Rising Ent. The album opens with a new version of "Every Time," a track that she put out in 2012. For Drive, though, the song has been remastered and given a new verse from Fabolous, who appeared on Amerie's last album, 2009's In Love & War, on the track "More Than Love."
"Every Time" is produced by Focus, Aftermath's in-house producer who played a major role on Dre's Compton. He lends a backdrop of dizzying synths and extra tight snares. It's definitely a refreshing change from the dark and moody R&B that's so popular these days. Stream Drive in its entirety here, and make sure to check out our Behind the Beat profile of Focus.

I have nightmares about you not bein' on my team
Ironically I wake up to the girl of my dreams
You sleep better when you with a man who keep cheddar
