New Jersey native Mike Zombie is most known for his production work with OVO, producing tracks like "Started from the Bottom," but he's just as serious about his rap skills. After staying relatively quiet following his last album, January 2015's Rebel Without a Cause, Zombie recently made a return on the Charlie Heat remix of the buzzing Jersey anthem "Wanni Wag." He's now back with two solo tracks in order to hold fans over until his upcoming album Humble Genius. Both "Casper Sellin' Dope" and "No Morals" are produced by Zombie himself.
"Casper Sellin' Dope" is a chilly trap song that finds Zombie exercising all types of flows, sometimes going from mumbly singing straight into visceral rap attacks. The unpredictability works well over the steady but spooky production, made up of a repetitive organ melody as well as the liberal use of the theremin, which helps bring the song's ghostly theme to life.
After "Casper Sellin' Dope," check out "No Morals" here. Neither track will end up on Humble Genius, though they both are evidence that it will be a project to look out for.
Quotable Lyrics
Bitch you know I'm back up in Atlanta
Know exactly why I ain't get an answer
You too busy fuckin' round with rappers
I just got the cash, you want the plastic
Young n*gga gotta pay his taxes
Fuckin' with you, that's just goin' backwards
