Nipsey Hussle has been on a killing spree lately. He's back today with "The Field," his fourth new track since the end of April, when he began rolling out the new music with the Young Thug-featuring "Thug Life." "The Field" features a little-known rapper called Bino, who sounds like Tory Lanez, as well as Memphis trapper Young Dolph. The song is produced by Mike & Keys and Tariq Beats.
"The Field" paints a gritty but moving portrait of the areas in which the three rappers grew up. Raised in poverty and surrounded by gang culture, Nipsey and Dolph relay the rules they had to learn in order to survive and eventually become made men. Bino is responsible for the hook that ties their stories together. The track boasts a similarly reflective mindset to Nipsey's "Ocean Views," released earlier this month. Mike & Keys also contributed to the production on that one.
Quotable Lyrics
Pitbulls in the backyard
And we got a couple hundred rounds
N*gga where the fuck you was at
I ain't never seen you out here
Mama and my daddy was fucked up n*gga
I was forced to be out here
