Felix Snow's new collaboration with Ro Ransom immediately brings Neptunes flashbacks. Felix supplies a darting synth with a minimal drum arrangement, while Ro delivers a flawless Pharrell impression, recalling the duo's mid-00s work circa-Clones (Busta Rhymes' "Light Your Ass On Fire" comes to mind). With Skateboard P moving into more traditional disco and funk sounds, the lane of futuristic rap grooves is wide open, and we'd be totally alright with Ro and Snow filling that void. In between the propulsive rhythms comes a string bridge that throws you for a loop, proving the two have plenty of tricks up their sleeves.
