Delicate-voiced singer Mike Posner has recently become one of Detroit's most successful acts, as his single "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," released last summer, now sits at No. 5 on Billboard's Hot 100. The single will appear on his upcoming album, At Night, Alone, along with "Buried in Detroit," an ode to his hometown that was also released last summer. Ahead of the album's May 6 release date, Posner has shared a new "Buried in Detroit" remix courtesy of a producer named Lucas Löwe. The remix takes the Motor City homage a step further by recruiting Detroit's own Big Sean, who's also at the height of his career right now.
The remix adds a dancey pulse to the acoustic blues of the original without taking away its sentimental appeal. Sean and Posner have collaborated numerous times in the past, including all the way back in 2007 on "Smoke & Drive," which appeared on Sean's Finally Famous: The Mixtape. Several years later, it's good to see that they're still putting on for their home city.
Quotable Lyrics
Thanksgiving Day parade, I got carried through the city
And after that, I hope I get married in the city
And after that, I hope I get buried in the city
Even when I'm gone, you gon' still hear me in the city
