When brothers team up as rap duos, good things generally happen. From Clipse to Rae Sremmurd, the sibling chemistry is generally a great dynamic in hip-hop and Royce Rizzy and Madeintyo are no exception. The Private Club records have teamed up on the dreamy trap record, "Had To" today, displaying the same gift for deceptively catchy hooks that they've shown in the past. The perfectly delirious beat comes from TM88, giving the two artists a delicate, ambient synth arrangement coupled with some heavy drums.
As the instrumental fades off into the distance in the final moments, it resolves in a way that suggests putting the record on repeat. As the message of the song suggests, the work these two have put in over the last year has paid off, and this record finds the two taking their sound to the next level.
Quotable Lyrics:
I was broken, had no car in these rolls
New guy was working, he was working on my soul
Now I see the mountains pulling out the driveway
Niggas say they pop it low key thinking sideways
Had To
